Job summary

Carbon Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and clinical staff in delivering safe, efficient patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will perform routine clinical and administrative tasks, from taking vital signs to updating the EHR and coordinating patient flow.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of MA experience, completed MA training, and is proficient with EHR systems. On-site position in California with opportunities to advance clinical skills and patient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• At least 1 year of MA experience in a clinic or physician office.
• Current CMA/RMA/CCMA certification preferred; may be required.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within timeframe.
• Proficiency in English, with strong communication skills.
• Experience with EHR systems and data entry.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for exams, obtain vital signs and basic history.
• Document patient information in the EHR accurately.
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure supplies and equipment are ready.
• Assist with EKGs, specimen collection, point-of-care tests, and wound care.
• Administer medications/injections under supervision when permitted.
• Coordinate patient flow and communication to optimize scheduling.
• Handle check-in/out, scheduling, referrals, and phone duties.
• Educate patients on procedures and follow-up care.
• Maintain inventory and assist with restocking.
