Job summary

LifeLong Medical Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the team at the West Berkeley Health Center in Berkeley, CA. This full-time, benefit-eligible role requires completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and current CPR, with duties spanning clinical and clerical tasks in a community health setting.

The ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills, prior medical office experience, and the ability to work with diverse populations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a community clinic or medical office.
• Current CPR certification from AHA.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist medical providers by completing basic clerical and clinical tasks using EHR systems.
• Document patient registration, vital signs, medical history and health measures in the EHR.
• Support patient flow by rooming and answering phones, checking eligibility and records.
• Prepare exam rooms, assist in examinations, and educate patients per protocols.
• Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
