Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care and routine procedures in a busy outpatient setting. You will help with rooming patients, take vital signs, interview patients, and prepare them for examinations while assisting physicians and nurses as needed.

The role includes preparing treatment rooms, collecting samples, and performing routine tests, with opportunities for certification and tuition reimbursement within OSUP’s comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent plus one of the listed options.
• Diploma from Medical Assistant Program or 1 year medical assisting experience.
• Military Medic training or EMT-P (Paramedic) training.
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, BP, pulse, respiration).
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations/tests and explain procedures; assist as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine lab tests.
