Job summary

Summit Health in Bend, OR seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinicians with exam rooms, patient flow, and documentation in the EHR. You will handle vital signs, chart reviews, scheduling, and clerical tasks with a focus on safe, patient-centered care.

The role requires a high school diploma, completion of an accredited MA program, and 0–1 year of experience (2–4 preferred). BLS is required; English proficiency and basic computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program, required.
• 0-1 year related work experience, required. 2-4 years related work experience, preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days of hire, required
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner, required
• Basic proficiency in computer use, required

Responsibilities

• Prepares examination room and escorts patient in.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Prepares information needed for patient visit and records details in EHR.
• Documents allergies and vital signs accurately in EHR.
• Schedules appointments and manages patient communications.
• Stocks examination rooms and maintains supplies.
• Facilitates transition of care to UCC/Hospital.
• Provides scribing services and other duties as assigned
