Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care at our outpatient locations. You will assist with examinations, prepare treatment rooms, collect samples, and perform routine lab tests under physician instruction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Diploma from a Medical Assistant Program.
• Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience.
• Military Medic training.
• EMT-P (Paramedic) training.
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.
• Medical Assistant Certification.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures. Assists with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.
