Qualifications

• Candidates with extensive medical assistant work experience, along with phlebotomy experience, may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Answers phones, responds to inquiries and triages calls to appropriate personnel.
• Greet patients at time of visit and triage through the patient flow, assist with exam rooms and transfers.
• Maintain a sterile environment and observe infection control precautions.
• Prepare exam rooms, clean rooms and instruments, restock supplies between patients.
• Take vital signs, collect specimens, update patient history and assist providers/nurses.
• Handle clerical tasks such as charting, sending/receiving/scanning medical records and referrals.
• Monitor clinical equipment and escalate issues as needed.
• Check expiration dates on medications and discard expired items.
