Job summary

US Foot and Ankle Specialists seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians, staff, and patients in a fast-paced podiatry office. You will assist with exams, minor procedures, X-rays, and post-op care, while maintaining accurate records and HIPAA compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, MA program completion or 1+ year experience, and CMA/RMA certification preferred. Travel between local offices may be needed; Microsoft 365 proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience.
  • CMA or RMA certification preferred.
  • Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes preferred.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment.
  • Detail-oriented and patient-focused.
  • Ability to travel between local office locations as needed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
  • Take vitals, update histories, record medications and allergies in the EMR.
  • Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, X-rays, and basic podiatric services.
  • Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
  • Manage lab specimens, insurance verifications, pre-authorizations, and prescriptions.
  • Make post-operative calls and provide excellent customer service.
  • Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments.
  • Maintain documentation and HIPAA compliance.
