Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our growing podiatry practice. You will work directly with patients, support physicians, and contribute to a fast-paced outpatient setting.

The role involves vitals, histories, assisting with procedures, processing prescriptions, and ensuring HIPAA compliance. Training is provided; CMA/RMA certification preferred; travel between local offices as needed.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience.
CMA or RMA certification preferred.
Experience with medical terminology.
Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed.
Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications and allergies, and document in the EMR.
Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services.
Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
Manage lab specimens, insurance verifications, pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions.
Make post-operative calls, answer questions, and provide excellent customer service.
Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory.
Maintain documentation and HIPAA compliance.
