Job summary

3M HEALTHCARE in Charlotte, NC seeks a Medical Assistant to prepare and room patients for exams, obtain vital signs, and document health information such as chief concerns, allergies and medications. You will help support clinical integration and ensure smooth clinic flow.

Responsibilities include assisting with procedures (pelvic exams, wound culture, EMG, allergy testing), basic lab work, phlebotomy, immunizations, and routine specimen collection under supervision, with strong communication

Qualifications

• GED or high school equivalency diploma.
• Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and gathering/documenting/updating pertinent health information.
• Monitor and complete Clinical Integration/Quality Improvement measures with notification to clinician.
• Perform laboratory procedures (strep test, wound culture, specimen collection, etc.) using aseptic technique.
• Assist the Physician/Advanced Practice Professional with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
• Administer routine medications under Physician/APP orders or standing protocols (immunizations, antibiotics, vitamins, topical agents).
• Refer questions to Registered Nurses and physicians as per scope of practice guidelines and relay information back to patient.
