Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completed military clinical training per DD214 in lieu of program.
• Current BLS certification where required by division; competency assessment may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies and procedures.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings.
• Assists providers with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, lab orders, POCT, and CLIA-waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely following the rights of administration.
• Performs other duties: refills, authorizations, messaging, ordering, scheduling, and referrals.
• Cross trained to support clinic practice within MA scope.
• Demonstrates effective communication, teamwork, and escalation as needed.
• Maintains clean work environment and stocked supplies.
