Kids for the Future is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Shingle Springs Tribal Health patients under supervision of the MA Lead. Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, assisting with procedures, and ensuring a clean, safe clinical environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Graduation from a medical assistant program, or completion of the first semester of a nursing program.
• Ability to maintain sensitivity and objectivity to chronic medical and social problems.
• Valid California Driver License and insurability by Tribe's auto insurer.
• CPR/BLS certification and immunization requirements post-offer as specified.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, safe exam rooms and equipment; report repairs.
• Manage inventory of solutions, supplies, and equipment.
• Process patient charges for services and supplies.
• Maintain patient flow for smooth daily operations.
• Prepare exam room, take brief history, and assist provider.
• Record vitals accurately (height, weight, temp, pulse, resp, BP).
• Assist with minor procedures and obtain consent.
• Assist with tests and provide patient support.
• Administer injections per physician order.
• Perform EKGs, audiometry, spirometry, and basic lab procedures.
• Draw blood, document in EHR, label specimens.
• Uphold standards of patient care and clinic policies.
• Follow safety and infection control procedures.
• Report issues to Clinic Manager; participate in Quality Improvement.
• Comply with OSHA and state/federal regulations.
• Maintain professionalism with patients, families, and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
