Job summary

Shasta Community Health Center is seeking a Medical Assistant/Certified Medical Assistant to support clinicians in patient care. You will prep exam rooms, chart patients, and implement orders for diagnostic tests; administer medications and immunizations (non-IV); arrange outside referrals and educate patients under supervision.

Under supervision of the clinician, you will coordinate with staff to maintain patient flow, assist with exams, perform end-of-shift tasks, and ensure proper

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program.
• Current CPR/BLS at hire and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms, take vitals and interview patients.
• Prepare exam rooms, chart and ready workstation for clinicians.
• Assist in exams and procedures; administer injections after verification.
• Administer medications and immunizations non-IV; coordinate referrals.
• Perform in-house tests and collect specimens per qualified standards.
• Maintain patient data and ensure proper documentation for scanning.
• Support clinician to optimize patient flow and safety.
