The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Medical Assistant to join its healthcare team, working under Nursing Supervisor and Director of Nursing to deliver high-quality patient care.

The role emphasizes initial patient intake, data entry, vital signs, and assistance with procedures including immunizations and specimen handling. A certification or related healthcare education is required, CPR, and fingerprint/background checks; Indian preference applies.

Qualifikationen

• Certification as Medical Assistant or 2 years of related healthcare experience or education related to medical assistant.
• Knowledge of medical terminology/procedures, human anatomy and medical law/ethics.
• CPR certification required.

Aufgaben

• Assist with initial admission of patients to the Health Center, including intake/data entry, ROI processing, and coordination with medical records.
• Manage patient intake for appointments, verify check-in, review screenings, obtain vital signs, review medical history and allergies in the EHR.
• Assist with setup of medical procedures and prepares/handles lab specimens and procedure trays for specified procedures.
• Enter patient information for quality measures and ensure accurate documentation for GPRA/QIP and related measures.
• Support patient flow, inform patients of status and assist with follow-up scheduling and rescheduling as needed.
• Educate patients about medications, treatments, disease management, and post-visit care; explain treatments during applicable appointments.
• Deliver immunizations and medication administration with correct rights, dosing, site, and documentation.
