Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of program.
• IL/WI divisions require high school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years verifiable full-time MA experience in last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows all policies and procedures; maintains training and competency.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, med reconciliation, history, screenings, and social drivers of health.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties, venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT per standing orders, and CLIA-waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines following rights of medication administration.
• Performs other duties: refills, authorizations, scheduling, referrals, and supply ordering.
• Cross trained to perform duties relevant to specialty/clinic within MA scope.
• Demonstrates effective communication, teamwork, and escalation when needed.
• Maintains clean work environment; ensures equipment and supplies are stocked and functioning.
• Ability to provide age-appropriate care across life span per department policies.
