Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group in Michigan is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant (MA) to welcome and prepare patients for appointments, collect histories and vitals, and assist providers with exams and procedures. You will administer medications, perform testing as directed, and relay results and instructions to patients.

The role supports patient education, coordinates care with providers, and contributes to quality improvement programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of accredited/approved MA program and externship; MA internship; EMT program; Paramedic program; or Certified Athletic Trainer.
• If credentialed, maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
