Job summary
ENTA in Fresh Meadows and Dyker Heights, NY, is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to welcome and prepare patients, record histories, assist providers, perform basic lab tests, and maintain sterile supplies.
You will educate patients on medications, document care, manage inventory, and ensure HIPAA compliance. Candidates should have completed a Medical Assistant program or CMA/RMA certification, with Epic EMR experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Completion of Medical Assistant program or CMA/RMA certification; alternatively a Biology degree may qualify.
- EMT certification may qualify as an alternate credential.
- Five years of continuous Medical Assistant experience may qualify as an alternative.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology is an acceptable qualification.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and prepares patients for examinations.
- Record medical histories and document care.
- Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
- Perform basic laboratory testing and specimen handling.
- Maintain sterile instruments and supplies.
- Educate patients on medications and treatment plans.
- Manage inventory and ensure HIPAA confidentiality.
