Job summary

Actalent, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant for a primary care office in Monroe, NY. This contract-to-hire role runs Monday to Friday, 08:00 am – 05:00 pm, with 1 opening and a preference for EPIC experience and 2+ years in healthcare.

You will greet patients, assist with exams, take vitals, perform EKG and phlebotomy, document in EMR, and support clerical tasks while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Onsite role with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience taking vitals and documenting in EMR.
• Experience scheduling appointments and patient care.
• Knowledge of HIPAA rules for patient confidentiality.
• Ability to perform EKG and phlebotomy tasks.
• Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient arrival and assist with patient flow.
• Greet patients and visitors promptly and courteously.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and monitor wait times.
• Assist patients in preparing for exams and inform physicians when ready.
• Assist during examinations if required or requested.
• Obtain and record patient information including vital signs.
• Document results in patient charts and EMR.
• Perform and assist with EKG and phlebotomy.
• Prepare medical records and document heights, weights, and vital signs.
• Ensure lab reports are on record before appointments.
• Provide interpretation services and clerical support.
• Maintain examination rooms in clean, orderly fashion.
• Stock examination rooms and verify supplies with vendors.
