Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency in taking vital signs, administering injections, and performing phlebotomy.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Experience in a primary care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms and assist physicians during examinations.
• Interview patients to determine visit reasons; measure vital signs and collect data.
• Record pertinent information in electronic charts accurately.
• Operate medical equipment (EKG, Holter, DXA) and perform routine CLIA-waived tests.
• Administer injections or treatments within scope of training.
• Schedule consults and procedures and handle precertifications and forms.
• Assist providers with incoming/outgoing medical documents and calls.
• Work at Medical Message Desk or clinic lab performing CLIA tests as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
