Job summary

Rowan Diagnostic Clinic, PA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical operations in a busy primary care setting. You will take vital signs, assist physicians, and manage routine CLIA-waived tests with accuracy and courtesy.

Responsibilities include handling patient communications, scheduling, and documentation, while adhering to HIPAA and high standards of patient care. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; a High School diploma is required with an Associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Proficiency in taking vital signs, administering injections, and performing phlebotomy.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam and treatment rooms and assists physicians during examinations.
• Interviews patients, records reason for visit, and measures vital signs.
• Records medical information in electronic charts accurately.
• Operates medical equipment (EKG, Holter, DXA) for routine CLIA tests.
• Administers injections and performs routine laboratory tests.
• Schedules appointments and handles precertifications.
• Processes incoming/outgoing medical documents and communicates with patients and pharmacies.
• Generates telephone encounters and coordinates with clinics.
• Works with Medical Message Desk and clinic lab for CLIA-waived tests.
• Performs other duties as assigned and supports team as needed.
