Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a clinical setting. The MA will greet patients, record vitals, and prepare exam rooms. They will assist physicians with procedures and maintain a clean, safe environment, including sterilization and supply management.

The role requires basic computer skills, EMR familiarity, and the ability to work various shifts. CLIA-waived labs and point-of-care tests may be performed as part of duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some medical experience.
• BCLS certification.
• Ability to work all shifts including day, night, and weekend hours as needed.
• Basic computer skills; familiarity with electronic medical records.
• Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and escort to room; initiate registration process.
• Measure vital signs and record information on chart/EMR.
• Explain treatment procedures and prepare exam room for examination.
• Assist the Physician/Medical Provider with procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment; sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Perform diagnostic tests including eye exams, ECG, pulse oximetry, peak flow and spirometry.
• Perform CLIA-waived lab tests and collect/process specimens for send-out.
• Perform DOT and Non-DOT urine drug screens with proper chain of custody.
• Remove sutures/staples and change dressings.
• Participate in Quality Improvement and Mandatory education/training programs.
