Job summary

Virtua Health in New Jersey seeks a Medical Assistant (Practice) to prepare patients for exams, document vital signs and chief complaints, and assist providers. Responsibilities include phlebotomy, vaccines, EKG and other clinical tasks under physician supervision.

Qualified candidates have HS diploma, graduate of MA program, current MA certification, and BLS. Salary ranges from $19.54 to $29.20 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of medical office experience preferred.
• HS diploma or equivalent; graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current Medical Assistant certification/registration and BLS certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by documenting vital signs and chief complaint and prepping exam rooms.
• Perform phlebotomy, collect specimens, administer vaccines and document accordingly.
• Perform diagnostics such as EKG and pulmonary function tests under physician supervision.
• Screen calls, relay prescriptions and test results per protocol.
• Maintain clinical supply par levels and ensure equipment accuracy and compliance.
• Assist with front desk duties as needed, including patient registration and scheduling.
