Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers in patient exams, document vital signs, and assist with clinical tasks at our Lumberton, NJ location. The role includes phlebotomy, vaccines, EKGs, and front-desk duties as part of a dynamic health team.

The successful candidate will have a HS diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, and current MA certification with BLS.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent; graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current Medical Assistant certification/registration; BLS certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam by obtaining and documenting vital signs and chief complaint.
• Performs phlebotomy and obtains specimens; administers vaccines and completes required documentation; performs EKG and other tests under supervision.
• Screens and directs patient calls according to protocol and contacts patients regarding prescriptions and test results.
• Performs daily regulatory testing to ensure equipment is accurate and compliant.
• Maintains par level of clinical supplies for the facility.
• Performs front desk duties such as registering patients, billing, and appointment scheduling.
