Job summary

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of similar job experience in a medical office preferred.
• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Virtua Health Medical Assistant Program.
• Current certification/registration as a Medical Assistant. Certification required within 1 year of hire (DE state).
• BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam by obtaining and documenting vital signs, chief complaint, and preparing exam room.
• Performs phlebotomy and administers vaccines with required documentation; conducts diagnostic tests (EKG, Pulmonary Function) under physician supervision.
• Screens and directs patient calls per protocol; informs patients about prescriptions and test results as directed by the physician.
• Performs daily regulatory testing and documents results to ensure equipment accuracy and compliance.
• Maintains par level of clinical supplies for the facility.
• Performs front desk duties including registering patients, billing, and appointment scheduling.
