Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time, on-site role in Medford, NJ. You will assist clinicians, obtain vital signs, perform phlebotomy, vaccines, and rapid tests, and support front-d desk tasks to ensure smooth patient flow.

Requirements include HS diploma, MA program completion, and current Medical Assistant certification with BLS. The position offers comprehensive benefits and a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program; DE certification required within 1 year of hire.
• Current certification/registration as a Medical Assistant.
• BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam by obtaining and documenting vital signs, and chief complaint, and preparing patient for provider exam.
• Performs phlebotomy and obtains specimens for processing; administers vaccines and completes required documentation.
• Performs diagnostic tests under physician supervision.
• Screens and directs patient calls and communicates prescriptions/testing results.
• Performs regulatory testing and ensures equipment accuracy and compliance.
• Maintains par level of clinical supplies for facility.
• Performs front desk duties including registering patients, billing, and scheduling.
