Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Paducah Cancer Center to support physicians with patient assessment, vital signs, and care coordination. The role includes documenting patient information, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with procedures in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, enrollment in an MA program within 30 days, and MA certification within 12 months. On-site position with comprehensive benefits available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in an approved Medical Assistant program within 30 days of employment.
• Active MA certification targeted within 12 months of start date (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA) per/state rules.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to legal responsibilities and standards within Medical Assistant role.
• Identify changes in patient condition via data collection and report to provider.
• Troubleshoot issues and escalate to provider or supervisor as needed.
• Maintain excellence in care in interactions with patients and staff.
• Keep clinical and administrative skills current per departmental guidelines.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for physicians.
