Qualifications include HS/GED, MA program enrollment within 30 days, and certification (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA) with BLS preferred for some sites. Great teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required; enrollment in MA program within 30 days of employment.
• Active MA certification required within 12 months: CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA (note: some certs not accepted in certain states).
• BLS certification required at certain locations; otherwise preferred before independent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist provider with patient intake and care planning.
• Take vitals, document health information, and assist with procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by physician.
• Collect specimens and handle basic lab tasks.
• Explain treatments and provide patient education as needed.
