Qualifications

• One (1)+ year experience in a medical setting, preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology; sterile technique, anatomy, and medications.
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with proper grammar and spelling.
• Proficiency with standard office software (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as patient advocate during exams and treatments.
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and vitals.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Record medical history, medications, allergies, and test results.
• Obtain consent forms and assist with medication administration.
• Collect specimens and prepare them for testing.
• Explain procedures, medications, and care instructions to patients.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures and provide instruments.
• Authorize drug refills under Provider direction and coordinate with pharmacies.
• Schedule appointments and manage room readiness.
• Maintain sterile fields and clean equipment.
• Assist in emergencies per policy and document actions.
• Order/emergency supplies and ensure equipment is functional.
• Adhere to policies to deliver high quality patient care.
