Job summary

Gastromed,-LLC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and staff with administrative and clinical duties. The role includes patient chart preparation, vital signs, and assisting with Telehealth visits in a fast-paced setting.

Proficiency in EMR systems and strong communication are essential, along with HIPAA compliance. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, 1–2 years of medical experience, and preferred certifications in Medical Assisting and CPR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred; must be able to read, write and speak English.
• 1-2 years of related experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task effectively.
• Must comply with OSHA and HIPAA rules and regulations.
• Proficient with EMR and basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient charts prior to office visits, ensuring all studies, reports, labs and imaging are uploaded to charts.
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms.
• Interviews patients, records vitals and medical history in charts.
• Notifies physician of abnormal vitals.
• Facilitates telehealth and phone scheduling as needed.
• Maintains patient flow and clean clinical areas.
• Follows HIPAA and infection control policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
