Job summary

Qualifications

• Current Certified or Registered Medical Assistant, or equivalent experience required; CPR certification preferred.
• 2-3 years of specialty clinical experience, gastroenterology experience preferred.
• Medical Assistant must be computer literate and able to operate various healthcare systems and multiple Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Monitors schedule and organizes patient flow for physician office visits or in‑office procedures.
• Accompanies patients to exam room, triages, collects history, and provides physical assessments as delegated.
• Schedules and obtains results for testing, procedures, and other services; communicates results to physicians and patients.
• Performs or assists with in‑office ancillary services, procedures, and specialty services.
• Manages patient charts; scans forms into the EMR and prepares charts prior to visits.
• Enters prescription refill requests into the EMR; maintains infection control and room readiness.
• Answers emails/voicemails and returns calls; ensures timely information flow and HIPAA compliance.
• Cross trains in other office functions as directed by the Practice Manager.
