Lake Charles Memorial Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care and support to the Practice Director and Manager. The MA will escort patients, document intake, assist with procedures, and educate patients under provider supervision.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program or equivalent.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience providing administrative duties and clinical care in a physician practice or ambulatory clinic.
• Broad range of administrative and technical skills in the healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Receives patient from waiting room and escorts to exam room.
• Records intake information in the medical record and chart.
• Records critical lab values and adverse reactions and reports to provider.
• Prepares patient and provider with setup and cleanup of procedures.
• Observes universal precautions and aseptic techniques with patients.
• Assists with patient education in conjunction with the provider.
• Inventory exam rooms and restock supplies to par level.
• Assist with daily cleaning of exam rooms and clinic station areas.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

Education

Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program

Certification as a Medical Assistant

CPR certification

Experience in physician practice or ambulatory clinic setting

Administrative and technical healthcare skills
