Job summary

Concord Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant to support examination and treatment under practice leadership. The role involves patient interviews, vitals, room preparation, and assisting clinicians during procedures, with strong emphasis on accurate documentation in the EMR.

Healthcare experience or a certified Medical Assistant program is preferred. CPR/BLS certification is required, with encouragement to pursue certification within three years of employment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Healthcare experience accepted (formal medical training program, EMT, LNA, Military Medics, Technicians, etc.)
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification or Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers. Medical Assistants are encouraged to obtain certification within the first three years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Gathers patient info, interviews patients, measures vital signs, updates medications and allergies in the EMR.
• Prepares treatment rooms for examination, stocks supplies, and assists with procedures.
• Assists providers during examinations and procedures with clinical skills.
• Schedules appointments and handles referrals per guidelines.
• Orders and inventories medical supplies and removes outdated materials.
• Greets patients and escorts to exam rooms.
• Cleans and prepares instruments for sterilization.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
