Job summary

Concord Hospital Health System seeks a Medical Assistant to assist in patient examinations under provider direction with basic treatment skills and clinic support. You will help with clerical and environmental tasks in a busy medical office.

Responsibilities include interviewing patients, taking vital signs, updating medications and allergies in the EMR, preparing exam rooms, assisting with procedures, scheduling referrals, and managing supplies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred but will accept applicants with healthcare experience.
• Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls and identify patient health problems per guidelines.
• Interview patients and measure vital signs; update medications and allergies in EMR.
• Prepare examination rooms for procedures and stock/clean equipment.
• Assist provider during examinations and procedures.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage referrals.
• Inventory and order supplies and ensure proper labeling.
• Use Cerner and GroupWise per established protocols for documentation and orders.
• Greet patients and escort them to the exam room.
• Prepare instruments for sterilization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
