Job summary

Mercy Health | GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers, radiologic staff, and patients across clinical and front-desk activities. You will manage patient intake, vital signs, and basic testing, ensuring accurate documentation and seamless patient flow.

Ideal candidates have a Medical Assistant program, BLS certification, and relevant experience under supervision within the last 3 years.

Qualifications

• Must have completed Medical Assistant program (preferred).
• Experience as Medical Assistant with a licensed supervisor within last 3 years is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and secure required paperwork and insurance documentation.
• Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists.
• Answer patient questions and inform them of status.
• Prepare patients for examination including interviewing and recording medical history.
• Perform preliminary vital signs and escalate as needed.
• Conduct point of care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG).
• Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms and front desk areas.
• Maintain medical records and scan charts.
• Answer phone calls and manage daily correspondence.
• Perform opening/closing duties and cash handling.
• Document daily quality checks and maintenance logs.
