Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• At least 1 year experience in medical field.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for the following day’s clinic appointments ensuring all required reports are available for the Provider’s review.
• Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments.
• Room patients per scheduling criteria set forth by Provider; obtain vital signs.
• Record patient information such as vital signs, quality reporting data, and changes in medical history prior to Provider entering the patient’s room.
• Obtain urine and blood serum specimens from patients; package and submit to lab following protocol set by Provider.
• Run outstanding order reports for clinic follow-up.
• Prepare medication refills for the provider.
• Obtain prior authorizations for medications when requested.
• Assist in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed.
• Assist with patient calls.
• Maintain sample logs.
• Additional tasks assigned by management.
