Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio seeks a Medical Assistant to join our Athens Health Center as a full-time team member. You will support patients with compassionate clinical assistance, education, and administrative tasks, preparing for visits and assisting with exams and procedures.

You will document medical histories, manage vital signs, and help ensure efficient visit flow. Candidates should be organized, respectful, and comfortable discussing sensitive health matters.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an advanced medical assistant training program or CMA credential.
• Excellent communication, customer service, problem-solving, judgment, and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment.
• Ability to work some Saturdays.
• Strong commitment to high-quality healthcare and respectful, nonjudgmental patient service.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, explain what they can expect and communicate delays or next steps.
• Gather and document relevant medical and social history.
• Measure and document vital signs including height, weight, and blood pressure.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist clinicians during exams and procedures.
• Perform venipuncture and approved waived laboratory tests.
• Administer medications within your training, certification, or licensure.
• Provide accurate patient education about available services and funding resources.
• Prepare examination rooms and maintain supplies, inventory, cleanliness, and safety.
