Job summary

VillageMD in Hackensack, NJ is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs or NPs with patient flow and procedures. You will prepare exam rooms, gather vitals, verify allergies in the EHR and assist with scheduling and communications.

This role emphasizes accurate documentation, safety, and teamwork in a physician-led clinic. Qualifications include completion of an accredited MA or phlebotomy program, 0–1 year experience (2–4 preferred), BLS within 30 days, and strong English

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program is required.
• 0-1 year related work experience required; 2-4 years preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• English communication skills (oral and written) are required.
• Ability to multi‑task and use computers effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms and assist providers with patient flow.
• Maintain efficient patient flow and accurate charting in EHR.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient communications.
• Document allergies and medications accurately in the EHR.
• Adhere to safety precautions and assist with care transitions.
• Provide scribing services and other duties as assigned.
