Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering high quality patient care. You will work directly with patients, assist with clinical procedures, and help coordinate care to ensure a positive experience.

Responsibilities include welcoming patients, taking histories and vital signs, assisting with exams, testing, and specimen collection. The role also involves patient education and acting as a liaison between patients and providers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited MA program and externship/internship or EMT/Paramedic/ATC programs.
• Maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs if credentialed.
• MA-eligible or EMT with MI license; CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
