Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support safe, high-quality patient care across ambulatory settings. Under supervision, the MA performs direct patient care, helps with clinical operations and care coordination to maintain a smooth daily workflow.

Greet and prepare patients, document vitals, assist with EKGs and specimen collection, and keep exam rooms ready. EMR documentation is required; some scheduling and referrals support may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of accredited Medical Assistant training program preferred.
• 0–1 year of patient care experience in healthcare preferred.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet, room, and prepare patients; record vital signs and intake.
• Support clinical procedures (EKGs, specimen collection, POCT).
• Maintain clean, stocked, and ready exam rooms.
• Document accurately in EMR per guidelines.
• Assist with scheduling, check-in, referrals and patient instructions.
