Job summary

Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team in Elko, NV. This full-time, day-shift role supports patients with assessments, injections, vitals, specimen collection, and basic administrative tasks within a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Performs patient assessments and treatments under supervision.
• Performs diagnostic procedures and specimen collection and documents care.
• Maintains equipment, supplies, and exam areas; cleans and troubleshoots as needed.
• Performs administrative duties including scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• Administers injections and records vitals.
• Obtains authorizations for referrals and ABNs per policy.
• Documents charges to ensure 100% capture on fee tickets.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient assessments and treatments under provider or nurse supervision.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection; monitors patient condition changes.
• Maintains equipment, supplies, and exam areas; handles stocking and cleaning.
• Performs administrative tasks: filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and registration.
• Administers injections and records vitals for patients.
• Obtains authorizations for consultations and procedures.
• Ensures correct coding and charges are documented on fee tickets.
