Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team in Elko, NV. This full-time, day-shift role supports patients with assessments, injections, vitals, specimen collection, and basic administrative tasks within a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Performs patient assessments and treatments under supervision.
• Performs diagnostic procedures and specimen collection and documents care.
• Maintains equipment, supplies, and exam areas; cleans and troubleshoots as needed.
• Performs administrative duties including scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• Administers injections and records vitals.
• Obtains authorizations for referrals and ABNs per policy.
• Documents charges to ensure 100% capture on fee tickets.

Qualifications and requirements

• Assists with performing patient assessments and treatments under the supervision of a provider or nurse.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• Administers patient injections and takes patients' vitals.
• Obtains authorization for consultations, referrals, procedures, and ABNs per policies.
• Evaluates chart documentation for coding purposes, applies official guidelines, and determines and applies appropriate codes. Documents all charges on the fee ticket to ensure 100% capture of all charges.
