Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital in Elko, NV is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team on a PRN basis with daytime shifts. You will support providers with patient assessments, collect specimens, take vitals, administer injections, and document care.

Qualifications

• Performs patient assessments and treatments under supervision.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection; monitors changes in condition.
• Maintains equipment, supplies, and examination areas; troubleshoots issues.
• Performs administrative duties: filing, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• Administers injections and records vitals; obtains authorizations as required.
• Evaluates chart documentation for coding and ensures charges are captured.

Qualifications And Requirements

• Assists with performing patient assessments and treatments under the supervision of a provider or nurse.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• Administers patient injections and takes patients' vitals.
• Obtains authorization for consultations, referrals, procedures, and ABNs per policies.
• Evaluates chart documentation for coding purposes, applies official guidelines, and determines and applies appropriate codes. Documents all charges on the fee ticket to ensure 100% capture of all charges.

Salary Range: $18.00 - $30.62
