Pay Range

This range is provided by Jefferson City Medical Group. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range

$16.00/hr - $24.00/hr

Responsibilities

Job Specific Competencies:

• Admits patients to the clinic bay and assists the physician and/or nurse to provide physical care for the patient before, during, and after examinations and procedures.
• Performs routine clerical activities required for efficient operation of the clinic.
• Provides appropriate safety and infection control measures.
• Appropriately utilizes facility communication and information systems and equipment.

• Participates in educational experiences designed to maintain and/or improve professional competence.
• Maintains high work ethic standards.
• Provides quality customer service to staff, patients and visitors at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, some college preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant (MA) training program preferred but not required.

Experience

• Minimum one year of experience preferably in medical office setting, but not required.

Certification/License

• Certification as medical assistant preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Medical terminology

• Staff with prior job experience without formal training are encouraged to sign up for JCMG’s Medical Assistant Program.

Work Environment

Works in heated and air-conditioned area; may be exposed to infectious material and contagious conditions including exposure to patient body fluids, including blood and contaminated sharps; potential for exposure to hazardous disinfecting chemicals; must follow universal precautions and utilize personal protective equipment.
