Overview:

Assists the physician and office staff with duties including clerical processing, patient preparation, scheduling, lab work, x-ray, and medical records. Performs patient care activities in line with nursing standards as directed. Embodies the Mercy Philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respecting human life and dignity, and applying Christian values. Communicates with patients, families, visitors, and staff in a caring, friendly, professional manner. Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Medical Assistant Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Certification: Must obtain BLS Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience.
• Certified Medical Assistant Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Certification: Must have active Medical Assistant Certification/registrations (RMA, CCMA, CMA). Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days.
