BayCare Health System in Clearwater, FL is hiring a Medical Assistant or LPN to support our congestive heart failure clinic. You will assist providers, perform routine labs, manage records, and help maintain efficient clinic workflows onsite.

The role requires patient care focus, attention to detail, and compliance with OSHA/CLIA standards. A Medical Assistant program or equivalent is preferred, along with MA certification or active nursing license within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or related training preferred.
• Two years Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• MA Certification within six months of hire OR active license/certification (EMT, NREMT, Paramedic, or LPN).

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient examination, procedures, and treatment.
• Collect patient histories and prepare patients for visits.
• Perform routine lab procedures and prepare specimens for transport to the lab.
• Follow up on test orders and communicate results to providers and patients.
• Maintain patient education materials and EMR records.
• Maintain medical equipment and order clinical supplies.
• Ensure OSHA and CLIA compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Role Overview

As a Medical Assistant or LPN , you will support clinical operations by assisting providers and delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring efficient workflows within a specialty heart failure clinic setting.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting providers with patient examination, procedures, and treatment

• Collecting patient histories and preparing patients for visits

• Performing routine lab procedures and preparing specimens for transport to the lab

• Following up on test orders and communicating results to providers and patients

• Maintaining patient education materials

• Managing and updating patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR)

• Maintaining medical equipment and ordering clinical supplies

• Ensuring compliance with OSHA and CLIA regulations

• Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Preferred:

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or related technical training

Experience

Preferred:

• Two (2) years of Medical Assistant experience

Licensure / Certification

Required:

• Approved Medical Assistant Certification within six (6) months of hire OR proof of active license/certification as one of the following:

• EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or NREMT

• Paramedic

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Additional Preference:

• Candidates who have completed a Medical Assistant externship are encouraged to include the location and dates on their application and resume
