As a Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health, you will support our clinical team by:

  • Providing Patient Care: Assisting clinicians to gather relevant information and providing care to patients under the provider’s direction.
  • Effective Communication: Clearly communicating with patients via phone and in person.
  • Team Collaboration: Working with cross-functional teams to coordinate patient care, emphasizing attention to detail and follow-through.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program (certification must be provided upon hire)
  • Or at least one year of Medical Assistant experience (verified upon hire)
  • Or current RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers, obtained prior to start date
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry
  • Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients and team members to deliver high-quality care
  • Ability to protect patient privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in outpatient clinics or healthcare settings
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Current national MA certification from recognized bodies such as RMA (AMT), NCMA, CCMA, or CMA (AAMA)

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to see, read, and operate equipment, lift and transfer patients, assist with supplies, navigate busy rooms, and communicate effectively, including during emergencies. Specific physical activities include lifting, bending, walking, standing, and driving as required.

The hourly rate varies based on experience: $19.97 - $29.74.
