Job summary

New York Health (NYH) is seeking a Medical Assistant - OBGYN to join our Patchogue/Smithtown team. You will handle patient intakes, vital signs, specimen collection, EKGs, and support providers during visits in a fast-paced OB/GYN clinic.

Qualifications

• A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma are required.
• Proficiency with an EMR system is preferred.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching.
• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording.

• Record patients’ vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examinations.
• Sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
• Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process.

• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Medical Assistant - OBGYN

Location: Patchogue, & Smithtown, NY

Hours/Days: 5 8.5 hour days, Mon-Fri between 7:30am-8pm

Organization: New York Health (NYH) - OBGYN
