Job summary

Reiter, Hill & Johnson seeks a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team across three office locations in Chevy Chase, MD, Falls Church, VA, and Washington, D.C. The role supports physicians with patient prep, vital signs, procedures, phlebotomy, and administrative duties in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma; healthcare training or a degree is preferred. Experience is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in healthcare or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for examinations (reviews medical history, documents symptoms, updates medications).
• Records vital signs.
• Assists medical providers with exams and procedures as instructed.
• Administers medications and injections.
• Performs phlebotomy.
• Collects and prepares laboratory specimens (pathology, urine, fecal, blood).
• Stocks exam rooms with supplies.
• Cleans and sterilizes medical instruments and equipment.
• Keeps work environment safe and compliant with regulations.
• Answers phones, schedules appointments, takes messages, provides information.
• Triage and review test results.
• Manage abnormal pap smear results and follow-up.
• Review backlogs for pending test results.
• Triage outbound messages (paper and electronic).
• Submits prescriptions and refills as directed.
• Provide front desk coverage as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality.
