The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, six months of healthcare experience, and knowledge of medical terminology; completion of a medical assisting program is preferred. BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from a medical assisting program preferred.
• Six months of healthcare experience required.
• One year of healthcare/primary care experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.

Responsabilités

• Takes vital signs and performs phlebotomy.
• Prepares specimens for transport to labs and handles simple lab procedures.
• Assists with patient flow and clinical support for physicians.
• Answers phones, schedules appointments, collects co-pays and payments.
• Assists with billing and documents information in the EMR.
