Job description

Medical Assistant

Location: Fulton, MD

Pay From: $19 per hour

MUST:

• Experienced Medical Assistant with 3+ years of experience
• Experience working in an OB-GYN setting
• EMR experience
• Experience in a busy multi-provider office

DUTIES:

1. Place patients in exam rooms; obtain and record vital signs and brief history
2. Clean and prepare exam and procedure rooms; set up necessary equipment
3. Sterilize instruments
4. Stock exam rooms
5. Obtain consent forms from patients when necessary
6. Prepare patients for minor surgeries or procedures
7. Assist physicians with surgical and other procedures
8. Schedule lab appointments or tests as ordered
9. Manage lab specimens accurately
10. Order necessary medical supplies
11. Educate patients and families on diseases, follow-up, and prevention
12. Act as liaison between physician and patient
13. Administer medications as prescribed
14. Contact patients with test results as directed
15. Handle pharmacy calls and refills per physician orders
16. Maintain patient records and legal forms
17. Assist with chart preparation
18. File tests, lab results, charts, etc.
19. Answer phones, schedule appointments, and relay messages
20. Follow clinic policies and procedures
