Job Description

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an opportunity for a Medical Assistant to join our Women's Health department (Obstetrics and Gynecology) at the Dumfries Ambulatory Care Center in Dumfries, VA. The Medical Assistant must have experience working directly within women's health (Obstetrics and Gynecology).

Anticipated Schedule

Monday-Friday 0700-1530 or 730-1600

Position Overview

This position provides medical assistant services in support of patient care and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Experienced with biopsies, polyp removals, and related procedures - REQUIRED
• Taking a patient's history and personal information upon arrival of appointment
• Responsible for tracking reports
• Checking patient vitals and assisting physicians with dermatological procedures
• Screens walk-in patients for treatment eligibility
• Handles light administrative duties; schedules patient appointments
• Triages patient questions to staff
• Maintains and stocks forms and inventory at the front desk
• Performs various clerical tasks to assist clinical staff

Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program
• At least 2 years of experience as a medical assistant, including a minimum of 3 months in a women's health or Ob/Gyn setting (resume must reflect relevant experience)
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association

• Updated immunizations with proof
